“Toxic Avenger: The Musical” – Two Tromatic Thumbs-Up!
posted in News, `Roids |Last night I had the pleasure of seeing The Toxic Avenger Musical again…for the first time! With previews currently running at the New World Stages, the hilariously funny off Broadway play opens Monday, April 6th (ONE WEEK from today!). And best of all, I will be there…again! They can’t get rid of me!
The Toxic Avenger Musical features music and lyrics by David Bryan (keyboardist and founding member of Bon Jovi), book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change) and is directed by Tony Award winner John Rando (Urinetown).
If you’re a fan of The Toxic Avenger film, this is a must-see! If you’re an admirer of great musical theater, don’t miss it! If you’re into rock music, this is the show for you! If you’re breathing and have the ability to be transported to a different location, haul ass to the New World Stages!
Following last night’s performance (which was met with a standing ovation!), I had a Meet & Greet with the audience, many of which were residents of Tromaville and fans of the movie. I was told, time and time again, that the music was a Toxerrific interpretation of the film and that the songs were truly Tromatic (despite the lack of Toxie’s mop and tutu)! As the man who birthed Toxie, I couldn’t agree more!
Don’t miss out! Head to the New World Stages!
