This year’s Gen Con attendees will have three opportunities to catch Kaufman’s famous Master Classes. All three Master Classes will be different and take place at the Indianapolis Westin, located at 50 South Capitol Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana. The first class will be Thursday, August 4th at 5 p.m. in the Capitol III room, the second will be Friday, August 5th at 3 p.m. in the Capitol I room and the third will take place Saturday, August 6th at 10 a.m. in the Capitol I room. Tickets for the Master Class are $20 and can be purchased now on the Gen Con website – http://www.gencon.com/2011/indy/pm/events/anime-film/troma.aspx.
Gen Con will also present a major Troma retrospective; FREE screenings of Troma classics will take place at the Westin Capitol Rooms. It all starts Thursday night at midnight with the Indiana premiere of Drew Rosas’s “Blood Junkie” in the capitol III room. Friday night, there will be three different screenings of classics directed by Kaufman himself, “Poultrygeist” (capitol II room, 10 p.m.), “Terror Firmer” (capitol II room, midnight) and “Citizen Toxie: the Toxic Avenger IV” (capitol I room, 12:30 a.m.). On Saturday night, Gen Con will screen Tony and Emmy award winners (“The Book of Mormon”, “South Park”) Trey Parker & Matt Stone’s debut film “Cannibal! the Musical” (capitol II room, 11:30 p.m.) and Charles Kaufman’s genre classic “Mother’s Day” (capitol III room, midnight) which has just been remade by Brett Ratner and stars Rebecca de Mornay and Jamie King.
In addition to the Master Classes and the free screenings, there will be DVDs, Blu-Rays, Comic Books, Posters, T-Shirts and other Tromabilia at the Troma Booth #2054 Thursday through Sunday. Kaufman, who loves his fans, signs merchandise for free.
