Talkhouse Film, where “filmmakers talk film” has hired Lloyd Kaufman to write about new movies for the site. “When it comes to producing and directing films, it’s hard to find someone with more authority than Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment Inc. and creator of The Toxic Avenger,” says Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment Inc. and creator of The Toxic Avenger. In his most recent review on Ondi Timoner’s documentary about actor/comedian/philosopher/celebrity, Russell Brand, Brand: A Second Coming, Kaufman couldn’t help but think of the Pope’s recent visit to the U.S. while watching Russell Brand be Russell Brand.
Kaufman has written six books about making films and has presented his “Make Your Own Damn Movie” master class all over the world, including his alma mater Yale, as well as Oxford University and Saint Petersburg Film Academy.
“At Talkhouse Film, our contributors are engaged, passionate filmmakers across multiple genres and generations,” said Nick Dawson, Editor-in-Chief of TheTalkhouse.com. “Lloyd Kaufman, as both an icon and iconoclast within the world of independent film, was from the very start on my wish list of contributors, and it’s been a real pleasure having him writing idiosyncratic, insightful and — of course — very funny pieces for the site.”
