I wanted to let you know about Deptford Cinema’s Kickstarter campaign to support exciting plans to improve the venue.

To give you a bit of background, Deptford Cinema is a non-profit, DIY organisation built and run entirely by unpaid volunteers. We screen a lot of experimental, world, classic and cult films and work by new film makers, organise panel discussions, host art exhibitions, improv live music to screenings, life drawing classes, with classic films being screened at local venues for older people with our travelling cinema. We are also dedicated to supporting new and upcoming filmmakers. Deptford Cinema is not just a place to watch films but serves as an affordable place to see a wide range of art, music and educational events and is an active hub for the local community. www.deptfordcinema.org.
Our Electric Extravaganza Kickstarter campaign which launched this week seeks to raise at least £15,000 over 30 days to upgrade our electrics. We want to do this so we can make the cinema more accessible by installing a hearing loop and adjustable lighting for neuro-diverse screenings, for example for people with autism, and improve our sound and lighting facilities so that we can put on a wider range of live music events and art installations.
We would be extremely grateful if you would consider contributing to our campaign and sharing information about the Kickstarter in your wider networks. If you would like any more information about the campaign please get in touch.
Thank you.
